Sky Plus Box

We've had our Sky Plus Box now for about six months and one of the more notable aspects of our time together is how little we've used it. But that's not why we're here on the Sky Plus blog.

Sky television is part of the most influential cultural organisations in the world with seamless comment and opinion ranging across the globe (with particular strengths in fast growing China) and across newspapers, television and magazines.

Sky One is fast becoming a challenger to conventional terrestrial channels in terms of quality but also in terms of its fix on what people want to hear and how. As Sky themselves say: there's only one channel with a book show and that is Sky. While terrestrials produce programmes they believe are populist, SKY does it better and manage to maintain a respectably high cultural bar.

We thought such an influential cultural force should have its own blog - an unofficial one. So we'll be commenting here on Sky programmes, the Sky Box and related technology and indeed all things SKY.
